Sue seems to be a very nice person. God bless her soul. She can do simple hairstyles even tho the colors sometimes come out faded. I think perhaps that is because of her lack of skills with bleaching hair. I have seen her work when it comes to bleaching. It honestly looks like she doesnt even bother to tone it. Orange hair is a SIN in the beauty industry. Blonde hair is an hairstyle. This woman should not be allowed around bleach.

I had a great haircut with Joann. She told me her previous experience was working in New York for 30 years and it shows in her skill. I walked in and showed her 3 photos of Park Jihyo from TWICE and she gave me exactly that hair cut. She even asked my specific preferences with the bob style and previewed changes to give me an idea of the look. She was great to talk to and is a great listener. She did a wet cut, no shampoo, and a quick blowout. About 45 minutes. I will be back for my trims and styling. Go treat yourself here!

I've been a customer of Artistic Cuts (namely Sue) since she used to be located at the "34th St Plaza". There's a plethora of reasons why I continue to go back to Sue after all this time. She's consistent, quick, and she does a great job. Typically they are busier on weekends and Mondays and will post any days they are not open.

Not the haircut I asked for, commented on my bad skin a lot, but it's the best haircut I've ever gotten from a barber or salon. I will be back.

Both me and my mother got our haircut. I have never had a faster haircut, which never happens. She did it dry and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted. They were polite yet didn’t pry too much. We give it a 10/5

I am so glad I decided to give this hair salon a try. The place is inviting and clean, and there is no smell of food, contrary to what another reviewer had said. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there were 3 hair-stylists available. There was no line, and I had a good haircut.

I couldn't be happier with my cut! I asked for layers and to take the bulk out, and the result is just fabulous. I really wish I lived in the area, as I would make this my go to salon.

Joanne is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! She's been a hairstylist in NYC and recently just moved to Gainesville and I feel blessed to have met her! She is immensely knowledgeable and gave me insights about my hair and hair type which I never knew about before. Not only that but she truly gave such loving and Motherly vibes and imparted the most valuable wisdom to me about life! I went in for a haircut but left feeling so inspired as our conversation was something I really needed to hear. I genuinely appreciate her time and work from the bottom of my heart and will definitely be returning for my hair needs. Su and Tweety are also very wonderful hair stylists and I am very glad they have such a wonderful team put together!

Met Sue 15 years ago and I am in and out of the US, stopping there with my few hair cuts. The prices had definitely gone up a while back to 40 bucks a short cut and I nevertheless went there (not paying much attention to the very plain surroundings) with washed hair for a few strands to be darkened of my yellow blonde. Work investment was not soo much, but 90 USD were definitely too much, so that her cute little son was commenting "Mom, 90 Dollars?" as I walked out. Surely more that the inflation we are used to. Kinda disapppointing.

The lady cut my hair well, fast, and cheap. Didn't speak to me at all after asking me how I wanted my hair cut. Couldn't have had a better experience

They are very kind. You can make a reservation, and it saves you time. If you show a picture of the style you want, it will create a style similar to that.

TL;DR Good typical asian salon if you want that experience. Last visit, bad highlighting experience. They have less hospitality and more pricer cuts than the asian salons I've went to. Going to find a better barber/salon. Doesn't listen to what me or the other few English speaking costumers I've seen. For me, I asked the sides to cut more box-like, yet they just go ahead, make the box, round it, over shorten it. It happens every time even when I say its good. I asked for light brown, almost blonde, but they went for bright blonde highlights and it was nothing like what we talked about beforehand. What they showed initially (via the sample color) and what I had were shown side by side. I clearly saw two different colors, but the two ladys were gaslighting, saying "Yeah!! Looks Good!!". I told them this isn't what I wanted; they're initial were gaslighting me saying I didn't know what I wanted and that's why I got the super blonde highlights. DEFINITELY NOT Going back again. They're ignorant on their mistakes, to what they did to me and to a few other costumers requests when they ask. Like one man that was getting his hair cut (while I was waiting for the toner to darken my hair), said he’d like to keep the back hair where it overgrows, yet the stylist cut it anyways saying "no no its good trust me" and I hear the dude saying "oh well guess its too late". Like what??? Can't have that attitude when going to a barber/salon... I went about 5 times by now and I gotta say, I'm too uncomfortable to go anymore. They're also too gossipy. As a fellow Vietnamese I gotta say their gossiping in viet is typical in other asian salons I've been to, but definitely not healthy. No hospitality, no individualized and mutual understanding, more expensive end of asian salons (they added the haircut, $20 and highlights, $50 prices together, I'm used to the asian salon charging just the highlight price for the whole session) no connection with them for me. Wouldn't recommend, can't go back and I'm tired of the disappointment. Some pros, they did my layers well. Even haircut. Gives feel of a typical asian hair saloons I've been to.

I really miss my previous hair cutter back in south Florida. My hair had gotten long, and the ends were pretty split. Went and got my hair cut with a woman named Twe, who was super sociable and very sweet. She looked at the reference photo that I fished up on the net and cut my hair in literally 10-15 minutes, bangs and all. I don’t know much about hair, so I can’t tell if what I chose was an easy job or not, but she did a great job in such little time. I’m happy, and I’d recommend her for sure. $25 well spent.

The place is filthy and smells from Indian food. The girl washed my hair and barely washed the back of my head. Blowing it dry halfway and then started to flat iron it while it was still wet. I asked her to please not do that as it would fry my hair. So she blew it a little bit more and tried to iron it again. I got up paid my $20 and walked out the door. Save yourself the trouble, this place is awful.

Saw all the good reviews of BJ and was looking forward to getting a new do from her... she MESSED up my hair, then began to just cut and cut and claimed she was “just playing with it”. Left one side shorter than the other. Luckily I know how to style myself but dang... worst hair cut I’ve ever gotten. At least she got my bangs right.
