I LOVE THIS SALON! The decoration is beautiful and I had the best stylist! Her name is Taylor Hansen and I’m so glad i found someone awesome!! She was very attentive to what I wanted done and did exactly that. I highly recommend!!!!

Kristin was a joy & I’m so happy I got to meet someone who not only made me feel beautiful upon leaving, but we shared such a real & authentic conversation that I really enjoyed while I was in her chair. She was professional, sweet, and so knowledgeable with what she does! 10/10 recommend her & will be back!

Getting your hair done surrounded by books, natural light, and plants, what could be better? I love the atmosphere at Alchemist, and Glory is a fantastic stylist. She’s a wiz with coarse, thick, textured hair and a master of subtle color. I always leave feeling happy and with an extra boost of confidence!

I couldn’t be happier with my haircut. I got my hair cut by Shelley and explained to her what I wanted, she walked me through her thoughts and how to achieve the look I wanted at home at well. She was more than helpful in helping me understand my hair and was super friendly. I’ve been scared to get my hair cut again after a few bad ones in the past, now I feel at ease and happy to know if found the place and person I want to do my hair. The salon is absolutely stunning and the staff is very friendly. I’ve already booked my next appointment and can’t wait to go back!

I had long hair, asked for it to be cut about an inch above the shoulders and some layers put in to add movement, volume. What I got was hair cut just above shoulders, different lengths each side no layers but the bottom of my hair was cut in to hap hazardously so I now have chunks missing. The back of the hair looks the worst as the hairstylist cut up high in to it. The stylist lacks any technical cutting expertise and told me she doesn’t like to measure the lengths and prefers to do it by eye, that’s obvious! When I asked her to cut my bangs she didn’t want to as she said I should grow them out, I insisted she cut them, needless to say, I regretted that. I can honestly can not remember the last time I had such a bad hair cut. It’s an absolute joke and too short for another stylist to do anything with. There was no bio for her on the salon website but I was informed she had been cutting for 19 years and they told me her name. However, I could find no online presence, Instagram etc, so I was REALLY taking a chance with her. The salon itself is SO lovely, calm, relaxing and I would have loved to become a regular. When I told them how I felt they said sorry I was disappointed and they was it! Great customer service, not! I paid $115. I feel this cut is Supercuts quality…. Poor.

Today was my first visit to Alchemist Salon on Charlotte Avenue, and it was a genuinely excellent one. It's not often that when I walk in the door of a new salon, the first words that spring to mind are "warm and inviting". It's lovely inside and decorated with many MANY gorgeous plants. Jess the receptionist greeted me warmly, and after my appointment we had a great chat. Right on the dot of the appointment time I had booked Mark greeted me, and we proceeded with me receiving one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I've had my hair cut every six weeks for the last 40 years. I know when I've had an excellent haircut, because I have had so few. I wear my hair very short, and because I've had so many haircuts over my lifetime, I know exactly what I want. It's been difficult finding someone who's really good at short precision cuts, because long flowing (cookie cutter) locks is The Nashville Way. Public Service Announcement for the women of Nashville: Change it up! Do something different! Don't look like every single other woman with long hair out there! Be brave and Try. A. New. Style! Mark and I saw my hair, my style, and my hairstyle from the same perspective. He did such a great job cutting it, and I finally feel completely self-confident with the way my hair looks for the first time in quite a while. I would highly recommend him and his salon in general to anyone who wants a great haircut! Go book an appointment!

The Alchemist is a relaxing, plant-lovers dream, with amazing stylists + positive energy. I so look forward each time I get my hair cut with Laura Beth because I know it's ME time to relax, unwind and have a good laugh. Laura Beth always listens to what style I want and is flexible when scheduling. They offer early morning and evening appointments which works for my busy schedule. Plenty of parking and good pricing.

The Alchemist located in Nashville's L & L Market is not at all your typical salon. Paint a picture of an old chemistry professor’s lab, filled with natural lighting for what appears to be more rainforest conservatory than styling salon. The shop itself is filled with plants stretching from floor to ceiling, endless stacks of books surrounding you & self care products. As if that wasn’t a utopia by itself, located in the midst of all that wonder is where their stylists are given the freedom to transform client’s hair. A Salon Paradise? They certainly think so. That’s them in a nutshell. Oh, we didn't say nutty professor. Expect to see hair, plants, books and a local celebrity anytime you stop in. I'm not at liberty to discuss which one they were transforming when I was there. Too bad I didn't have the time to revamp my Phyllis Dillar Hair design, but make an appointment and you won't be disappointed. Stop by & visit them to see for yourself! The only thing you have to lose is that same tired old look.

This is a wonderful salon...friendly, calm, relaxing. Lorabeth and Merrell both do beautiful cuts and colors. When a short style still looks good even as it is growing out you know you are in good hands...worth every penny! Bonus...lots of interesting little shops and eateries in the complex in which to browse or grab a snack.

This place is a GEM! Went for the first time and they so warm and welcoming. Very safe and followed COVID protocols. Sara did the most amazing job with my hair and gave me the exact hair cut I wanted. She is also so fun to chat with! I would highly recommend The Alchemist if you're in the Nashville area!

What an awesome haircut by Sara! I was really happy with her work, and she was great to talk with. Even though this was my first time, she got the style exactly right, like she'd been giving me the same style for years! The whole salon is also beautiful, and they have great COVID19 procedures in place. I felt safe the whole time.

Amazing experience!! I followed Angie here from another location across town because she's that good! It's such an inspiring and creative space it makes getting your hair done something to look forward to not another daunting task to get off the check list. Oh and they have wine so how could you not want to go??

I've never had a hair cut make me feel so confident! Mary is great. Getting a haircut by someone new is scary, but I had no doubt that I was in good hands. We talked like old friends even though we had never spoken prior. The salon itself is beautiful too!
