Already love the service before we were done, I left my 99 year old friend and took someone to their job, I really had no options, it was leave her or forget it, again. I couldn’t, no wouldn’t do that, they said I couldn’t even do it but I got online and the first two said, green light, open! They were both locked tight. Then I sang Jesus loves me and he sent an angel, I warned her she’s feisty and forgetful but still a spit fire. She looked at me and with a sweet, soft voice said,” I will take good care of her”, and I believed her! Confident that she would be great when I returned and she was! !Ms.Shirley had that sparkle back that I hadn’t seen in a little while 😇 thank you so very much! I recommend this young lady to everyone! I had my hair professionally done in years and she is going to be my new friend!

Vanessa did my hair for my wedding day this past week. While my hair turned out pretty, there were a few issues with the service that I would like to address now that the wedding is over, as I didn’t want to add more stress to my day. My appointment was for 1pm with the wedding being at 6pm, which the stylist knew. I went to her shop to have my hair done and planned to do my makeup after the hair appointment. Unfortunately, I was rushed to complete my makeup how I wanted and be ready for my wedding (which was a few minutes behind because of this). Curling and stying my hair took over 3.5 hours… putting me back at the venue to get ready at 5pm, giving me only an hour to complete my makeup, get dressed, and take getting ready photos. I have gotten my hair professionally done in the past, I have long, fine hair, with medium thickness for reference. In the past, updos have taken no more than 2 hrs to complete (most of them being way less than that). Unfortunately, the time was chalked up to my hair “not holding the curl” and “wanting it to be perfect and stay”. While my hair doesn’t do great holding curl, she chose to curl my hair with a 2-3 inch barrel curling wand, which makes even looser curls that don’t hold well, causing her to curl and re-curl several times. Upon taking my hair out that night, I had a sponge in my hair used as hair foam to get a good shape that was bright yellow (not matching my hair) and black Bobby pins (also not matching my hair, as my hair is strawberry blond to brown)… while this wouldn’t be an issue if I paid a decent price. I ended up with a bill of $350, not including tip or my $55 down payment. Prior to the styling, I was told that she charges $100/hour and that my hair “shouldn’t take more than 2hrs”… I ended up getting my down payment removed from the final payment which I was thankful for. I never imagined that I would be paying that amount of money for my wedding hair… it was almost the same amount I spent on my dress. I didn’t make a big fuss in the moment because I didn’t want to ruin my day and I was already extremely anxious because of the time crunch. I was asked to take photos of my hair that she could use for marketing (which she took plenty of photos of already, further prolonging the appointment) but I was unable to even get those because I had no time to take them prior to putting my veil in. I am greatly disappointed that I was so rushed and didn’t get to complete my makeup like I planned on. I feel as if I was taken advantage of due to the situation and the hourly pricing. I was prepared to spend $200 or less on wedding hair, but no more than that. In the future, I hope others realize what the pricing may be and realize that the products used may not blend in well with your hair.

Stopped in for a men’s cut because the sign outside said “walk-ins welcome”. The lady was immediately so rude! We simply asked if she had time for a men’s cut and she got a horrible attitude saying “I’m booked for today”. I totally get that - my husband & I have worked in customer service our whole life. I asked the lady if she knew any places around. She replied with “no I don’t, bye”. I fully understand you’re busy but being nice can go a long way. 🖤
